Whitewolf recording studio

In summary:

  • Arguably one of the most friendliest studios in the north east
  • Separate vocal booth and live room
  • Great acoustics
  • Affordable

Whitewolf recording studio is one of the most popular studios in the North East. It’s a great space for bands and solo artists alike. The studio is built up of a separate vocal booth and live room and a dedicated mix/ console room. Making it perfect for larger bands that want to stick their drummer in an isolated soundproof room. The acoustics in the studio is fantastic, albeit a little open. This makes it lovely for recording acoustic music when you want a ‘big’ sound. The team… and by the team, I mean Ian at White wolf is one of the friendliest engineers in the northeast. Always on hand to help with any faucet of recording. The studio is also very affordable, making it a great option for musicians on a budget.

Loft Music Studios

In Summary

  • Well reviewed
  • Located in the heart of Newcastle
  • Two isolation booths
  • Can aid in pop music production

Loft Music Studios are sitting on a great 4.8 stars on google reviews, the reputation is a testament to the quality of work at this Newcastle central based recording studio. Their rates are reasonable, but not the cheapest in the north east. But this could be due to the impressive sized live room they have. For a city central studio it’s pretty great. They’ve worked with a lot of relatively known artists, such as the Slaves, Wolf Alice and Gregory Porter. If you’re a pop musician, loft music may be a good choice, they work with a large number of producers. So if you need a particular sound for a new track, this studio may be a good place to go!

Blast Recording Studios

In Summary

·      Strong monitoring system

·      Established in 2006

·      Well reviewed

·      SSL Desk

Blast Music Studios have been around since 2006, quite an impressive amount of time for a ‘local’ studio. Blasts Recording Studio strengths most likely come from their very fancy SSL desk and impressive out board gear desk. If you want to go tone-searching. This may be a great place to do it! This is not a studio you would be disappointed in. They often work with a cohort of students as part of university programs – which can bring production costs down if you just need a straight up simple recording or space hire.

Ginger Music Studio

·      PMC Twotwo monitors

·      Full EPK production services

·      Online Booking System

·      Can be used as a rehearsal space

Posted by Ginger Music Company

Ginger Music Studio seems to be a studio that pitches themselves as a ‘do anything’ studio. They handle nearly all parts of production, from audio, albums, videos and full EPKs. This is fantastic for someone who is wanting a studio that can offer a bit extra. But it may be that this studio is a jack-of-all-trades, but you know the end of that sentence. Regardless, the work they do is fantastic, housing PMC two two monitors and Raven based mixing consoles – they certainly aren’t ‘short’ on gear. Booking with Ginger Music Studio is easy too, they even have an online booking system!

Old Church Studio

Old Church Studio is fancy fancy place to say the least. It is exactly what It says on the tin… an Old Church Studio. Gorgeous Building, Gorgeous Sound, Affordable prices. Nothing much else to love about this place. I would say its only lacking in its equipment, but still has a good few respectable microphones and a nice Focal Audio Monitoring system. If this isn’t enough, then pianists will be happy to know that they have a wonderful Yamaha C3 Piano available to hire for your recording sessions at Old Church Studio

CT Recording

Recording Studio England

Okay, so this site may be bias about this one. There are some fantastic studios in the north east, and as you can probably tell, this blog post is overwhelmingly positive. We absolutely want to give credit where it’s due. CT Recording is very ‘home brew’ studio. It’s better than perfect for some things, but maybe not for others! CT Recording is a very friendly studio, with a coffee machine to greet you by the door, we hope people feel at home! Every window gives you Seaham Seaside views.

CT Recording is a very specialist studio, are you a soloist, or a duo? Then this is the place for you. We don’t have the room for a full 5 piece band (but we can certainly try), but what we can do, we can do WELL. CT Recording has been endorsed by some fantastic music equipment companies, such as Aston Mics, ToneWoodAmp, PMC and Focusrite. If these big names put their trust in the studio, then so should you. Get in touch if you’d like to book in or simply have a chat!

SO, What IS the best recording studio in the north east?

I’m sorry, there’s no straight forward answer to this, all we can do is present the evidence that will hopefully help you make a decision.

There are a number of excellent recording studios in the north east, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Ultimately, it is important to find the studio that best suits your needs as a musician. We hope this blog post has helped you in your search for the perfect studio!
